The Independent Consumer Advocacy Network (ICAN) is the managed care Ombuds program created in New York State to help people enroll in Medicaid Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) plans or to help those who are having difficulties accessing services under these plans; such as home attendant services, medical equipment and supplies, or nursing home care. We can help people understand their rights under these plans and can meet people in person at their homes or other locations.
LASNNY is part of an extensive network of community-based organizations providing ICAN services. We provide direct services and supports to individuals in Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Schoharie Counties.
This program is supported by the Department of Health and facilitated by CSS.
