Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York increases visibility, services at new Albany center

The Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday morning for its new Center for Civil Legal Services near the intersection of Central Avenue and Henry Johnson Boulevard.

 

“We provide access to legal help for people to protect their livelihoods, their health, their shelter and their families,” Lillian Moy, executive director of LASNNY, said to a room packed with lawyers and political figures. “Civil legal aid ensures fairness for all in the justice system, regardless of whether you have any money, what you look like or where you’re from.”
