Thank you for being a part of helping over 21,000 individuals through civil legal aid services. On October 1st we look forward to coming together to celebrate you and acknowledge the importance of continued support.

The Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, with your support, continues to be on the front line of fighting for fairness, dignity, and justice for our neighbors. And your support this year is even more important than ever. We need your support to ensure that we are there to help keep people in their homes, ensure workers’ rights are protected and protect the safety of families and children.

This year, inflation, evictions and foreclosures, and rapidly rising rents have become increased sources of stress for families and individuals, particularly in communities of color. Families continue to deal with disruptions to schooling, job insecurity, and loss of family members. As New York responds to these crises and works to “build back better,” we can’t lose sight of the long-term effects that this economic climate will have on child poverty, mental health, and overall well-being. Civil legal aid for families and individuals across Northeastern New York is an essential piece of the long-term recovery for our state.

On October 3rd we come together safely to celebrate you, and to acknowledge the importance of continued support.
