Education Law Project:

Provides specialized legal assistance in education matters to low-income children and families with K-12 school-related issues.

Crime Victims Attorney Project (CVAP):

Supports and assists crime victims as they access available victim compensation and fully utilize their rights under New York’s Crime Victims Law. Provides representation in orders of protection, custody, child support, matrimonial, and other civil legal matters.

Domestic Violence Legal Assistance Project (DVLAP):

Provides a broad range of free civil legal services to survivors of domestic violence who cannot afford private legal counsel.

Domestic Relations / LGBTGNC-POC Survivors of Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault

Provides a broad range of free civil legal services to LGBTGNC persons of color who are survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault, including orders of protection, child custody & visitation, child support, divorce, housing, employment, or other income maintenance matters.

 

Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC):

Provides advice or representation to low-income New Yorkers who are having problems with their NYS or federal income taxes.

 

Foreclosure Prevention Project:

Provides legal help to low and moderate-income homeowners at risk of foreclosure.

HIV/AIDS Law Consortium (HALC):

Provides free legal and supportive services to individuals and families who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS.

 Senior Legal Services (SLS):

Provides free civil legal services for individuals who are 60 years of age and over. This commonly includes wills, powers of attorney, and health care proxies.

 

Nutrition Outreach and Education Program (NOEP):

NOEP offers free and confidential services to connect hungry New Yorkers to nutrition assistance programs such as the SNAP program, the School Breakfast Program, and Summer Food Service Program.

Homelessness Prevention:

Provides free advice and representation to individuals and families at risk of eviction.

 

Workers Protection Program (WPP):

Provides legal assistance for employment discrimination claims, wage claims, and workplace safety complaints.

Small Business Help:

Provides legal assistance to small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Services in the City of Albany:

Albany Simple Wills Project:

Provides assistance to homeowners in the City of Albany over age 50 to protect their home.

 

Right to Counsel:

Provides representation for tenants who reside in 12202 and who are at risk of eviction.

 

The Albany Project (TAP):

Collaboration with The Center for Law and Justice. Provides civil legal assistance to individuals living in the South End.
